Procedure
The admissions process at Ithaca Montessori School (IMS) is designed to
provide parents with the opportunity to learn more about the school, its
philosophy and policies, and its people. Together we will determine whether
IMS is the right choice for your child and your family. Below you will
find step-by-step directions for admission:
1.
Please contact our school to make an appointment
for a Parent Visit. This visit, for parents only, will allow you to see
our facility and observe our teachers and students in the classroom setting.
After your classroom observation you will meet with the Executive Director
to discuss any questions you have. We believe this is the best way for
you to learn more about the program offered at IMS. Parent Visits are
scheduled on Thursdays between 10:00am – 12:00pm.
2. After completing your Parent Visit, please complete the Application
for Enrollment (below) and return it to the school with the $50.00 application
fee. Your application is regarded as a formal request for consideration
of your child as a student at Ithaca Montessori School and your child
will be placed on any existing waitlist for classroom placement.
3. Acceptances for the coming school year are mailed out during our open
enrollment period in the spring. Those families applying after April will
be notified upon acceptance.
4. To secure your child’s place, IMS must receive the signed Enrollment
Contract, the $150.00 non-refundable enrollment fee, and the 10% tuition
deposit within 2 weeks of acceptance.
