April has quickly passed, and we are excited to be experiencing all that spring has to offer. We hope you enjoy this blog post, and don’t forget to click on the pictures.
We would like to welcome Annabella to the Pine room! The Pine room children have been helping Annabella learn our daily rhythm, and lending a helping hand when needed. We are very excited to have Annabella in the Pine room.
We are getting towards the end of our school year, and works are getting longer. Most of the children are working with the sandpaper letters, and building their muscle memory to help with writing. Children are often find items in the Pine room that start with the letter sounds! Many of the older children are using our movable alphabet to make words.
Concentration and focus are a huge part of our daily language. As children become engaged in a work, it is important to not interrupt their concentration. We have been practicing asking friends not to interrupt our work, or asking them to wait until we play outside. It is inspiring watching a child practice a work, and repeat it after completing it.
Even though we try not to distract the children when taking pictures, sometimes we aren’t successful. We think you’ll love these pictures!
Children usually choose independent work, this helps with deeper focus, and uninterrupted work cycles. However, there are occasions where a friend is invited to a work, Olive is giving a lesson, or a helping hand is requested to complete a work. This provides for a warm collaborative environment.
As the weather has gotten warmer we have had more time outside, please remember to send a water bottle every day.
Thank you to all the families who came out for Earth Day Work Day, our school looks beautiful.
From the Pine Room with love,
Olive, Cait, Elizabeth, and Doa
