Thad Demulder is Vice-President and General Manager of the Southern Tier Division of Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, overseeing 13 offices and 400 exceptional real estate professionals. He has extensive sales, marketing, and management background. Thad’s fluency in Japanese was utilized in previously held positions including Executive Director of the Mino International Exchange Association, Mino, Japan, where Thad taught ESL to children and adults, coordinated international events on a local basis and supervised other teachers. Prior to Mino, Thad was Coordinator of International Relations for the Kagawa Prefectural Government in Kagawa, Japan, acting as a liaison between foreign dignitaries and local government officials and working intimately with foreign officials to entice investment into Kagawa. Thad resides in Cayuga Heights with his son Tate, who is a student in the Pine Room. In his spare time, Thad is an avid real estate investor, in addition to having a passion for traveling.
Frank Parish has a background in architecture, construction, and management. After graduating from Keene State College in New Hampshire, he worked in the construction industry using both state of the art digital manufacturing tools and more traditional analog equipment. Since moving to Ithaca, he has worked for the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning at Cornell University. Initially, he supported the college’s fabrication facilities, including training students on the use of digital and non-digital fabrication tools. For the last five years, he has been the college’s Director of Facilities where he manages the facilities staff, capital and operating budgets, fabrication facilities, and all building improvements, including planning and implementing capital and non-capital construction projects. Frank’s daughter Zoe is in the Walnut room. They have been part of our IMS family since 2017.
Sarah Markowitz is an associate professor of psychology at Wells College and a licensed clinical psychologist with a private practice in Ithaca. Sarah is an Ithaca native and attended both IMS and the Elizabeth Ann Clune Montessori School of Ithaca. Sarah lives in Lansing with her husband Spencer, and their three children, Toby, Josh, and Sam, all former IMS students in the Nido, Oak, Willow, Elm, and Walnut rooms at different times
Aleksandra Perelman has been a member of the Ithaca community since 2010. As a community partner and fellow IMS parent, she aims to support Ithaca Montessori School teachers, families and staff through collaboration and observation to implement mindful and efficient strategies for our current and future goals. Aleksandra provides guidance and implementation over the operational, financial and human resource aspects of multiple programs within CALS, Cornell University. From improving services for early childhood education programming, through research grant management and higher ed operations, Aleksandra’s passion for knowledge-transfer has shaped her trajectory. She draws on strengths developed in her BS in Finance and MPS in International Development to deliver innovative solutions and has focused her skills and experience to be used as a tool to support learning. Aleksandra resides in Ithaca with her husband Lev, and their son Maksim. Maksim is a Hickory alum, Elm student, and IMS enthusiast.
